Frequently Asked Questions:
We want you to perform our ceremony. What is the next step? Please contact me: 757.869.0838 or cathi@agelessbalance.com. I will gladly answer any questions you have about my services. The first considerations are the date and time you have chosen, and where you want to have your ceremony. I do not list prices as variable factors such as elopement or planned ceremony, and distance and time of day need to be considered. Fees can be discussed when we speak. We can also meet for a complimentary consultation before you decide to retain my services.
When you are ready to book me as your Officiant after we have spoken, please complete the information form below (Bride and Groom Information) and pay your deposit. When I have received both the reservation form and the deposit, your ceremony reservation is complete. What about last minute ceremonies? Absolutely, yes! I would be happy to accommodate you at the last minute and officiate for you. If you are flexible with the time, I am usually able to offer same day services. If you have your license and want to get married today, please give me a call. There is almost no doubt that you can be married today!
What is needed to become legally married? You must have your marriage license, obtained from the Clerk of Court in any location in Virginia. Bring your marriage license and proper identification (driver’s license, military ID, etc.) to the ceremony. Please contact your Clerk of Court for any legal questions.
Is premarital counseling required? No, I do not require premarital counseling. As adults, your partner's and your choices are strictly your own.
Does it matter what religion or spirituality we practice? No. You bring your own spiritual experiences and practices to the ceremony. The amount of spirituality in the ceremony is up to you. I am Spiritual in nature and believe everyone has the right to choose his or her own path. As an Inter-Faith / Non-Denominational Minister, I honor and respect all beliefs and traditions, whether religious, spiritual, or secular.
What are your credentials? I am an Inter-Faith, Non-Denominational Minister, authorized to officiate wedding ceremonies in Virginia with the title: Reverend.
How long is the ceremony? Depending on what you want to include in your ceremony, your ceremony can be as short as “I do” and “I now pronounce you”, to longer ceremonies which might include Unity Ceremonies, Blended Families, Themed Weddings, and the like, lasting 30 minutes or longer. The ceremony length is totally up to you. The length varies based on many options such as: themes, readings, or singing, how many people in the bridal party procession and recession, etc. It should be as long or as short as you want it to be! This is something we will discuss. Location of ceremony? I officiate ceremonies in the venue of your choice: wedding chapels, churches, in parks or lake fronts, beaches, your private residence, in hotel halls and suites, restaurants, bars, my home office, just about anywhere! If you can dream it, we can do it! View my wedding album for a sample of service locations. Please be certain that you have acquired any necessary permits or permissions for your venue of choice. What about rehearsal? Again,
that is your decision. I will gladly direct your rehearsal should
you decide you want one. Many couples find that a rehearsal gives them
peace of mind. However, for shorter services, it is often not necessary.
That can be discussed as we go over your ceremony. Additional Information: Officiating your wedding is an honor and a sacred trust. Much time and effort is given to your ceremony to give you a beautiful start to your life together. As an Inter-Faith / Non-Denominational Minister I have worked with couples from every culture, every age, every religion, in many settings. I am confident that together we can make your day special.
